Misogyny
Theatre Education for Secondary Schools and Colleges
We would very much like to invite you to take advantage of an interactive drama presentation to be delivered within schools aimed at Year 9 upwards which will cover harmful sexual behaviours including misogyny, sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Gloucestershire Office of Police and Crime Commissioner in partnership with Gloucestershire Healthy Living and Learning and the Safeguarding Children Partnership has commissioned Loudmouth Education & Training to deliver a total of 50 sessions to schools and FE in June, July and November 2023.
Loudmouth Education & Training are based in Birmingham and over the last 29 years have established a reputation as one of the country’s premier theatre in health education companies. Their interactive theatre programmes are aimed at children and young people and look specifically at issues concerned with healthy relationships and risk. Each session gives information on how to access further local and national support if needed.
The programme is suitable for Y9 upwards - you may choose which year group you would like to have this for. The maximum number of students per session will be 300 so if space allows please do include other year groups if you can.
The programme would be delivered as a 1-hour, assembly style performance to the whole group together, and includes drama performance, character Q&A and discussion. If there are restrictions within the school due to Covid-19, Loudmouth have a range of alternative formats that we can run, including online options.
Free online lesson plans will be available to you (as soon as your date is confirmed) which contain ideas on how to run preparation and follow up sessions with your pupils. This combined with the sessions in school will create a very comprehensive package. For more information and support from your GHLL Leading Teacher please visit www.ghll.org.uk . There will be an opportunity to link with your GHLL Leading Teacher at the Professional only sessions being held on 8th June and 22nd June. As part of the professional session you will observe the play, the plenary questions and answer session and be involved in the after performance workshop which will aid preparation for you holding these in your setting.
To book your FREE session please complete the attached form in full and return to gsep@gloucestershire.gov.uk by no later than Friday 31st March 2023. Please note bookings will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. Due to the number of sessions available we will only be able to offer settings one performance.
